"E-Business is a reality. Firms of all sizes in all sectors must adopt in order to remain innovative and competitive in the global economy," says Nancy Hughes Anthony, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. "By supporting this program, we are recognizing those businesses that have successfully adopted e-business activities, and we are demonstrating to others that e-business is good for their business."

The Canadian E-Business Leadership Program promotes successful implementations of E-Business and Internet technology throughout Canada with various initiatives, seminars, workshops, and an annual national awards program. The goal of the program is to foster a strong e-business culture in Canada and especially addresses the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

"Through the recognition of organizations that have positively and significantly impacted their business with the Internet, we can set a standard for E-Business success," says Bob Gardiner, President of E-Strategies International Inc., and operating manager of the Canadian E-Business Leadership Program. "Illustrating and celebrating those successes will also ensure more organizations, large and small, will adopt e-business tools and techniques."

E-Strategies International produces this event, with the sponsorship of major corporations and federal and provincial government departments. Premier sponsors include The Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, The EssentialTalk Network, Microsoft Canada Co., Telus Corporation, Advanta Design and Industry Canada. The hosting and organizing partners are e-Biz Toronto and Techvibes.com
