What is an SMS?

The Short Message Service (SMS) is the ability to send and receive text messages up to 160 characters to and from mobile phones. The text can comprise of words or numbers or an alphanumeric combination.

What is a Premium SMS?

The Premium SMS allows service providers to create additional revenues for mobile or web-based value added services. This is similar to premium voice business models (900 or 800 numbers).

With Premium SMS services, mobile users are charged a premium price for SMS transmission and/or SMS reception.

Premium Rate SMS provides a new way to offer subscription-based services for Web and WAP sites and services without the need for credit cards and/or dialers.

How to send a text Message?

The instructions described in this section may vary depending on your handset type. Please refer to your handset user manual.

1. Select “send new message” in your menu options
2. Enter the text of your message
3. Enter the destination number
4. Send the message by following the handset instructions.
5. If everything is correct, then the screen of the handset will display a note certifying the sending of the message, i.e. "Message sent".
6. If the sending fails, the screen of the handset will display "Unsuccessful" or "Message failed",. Please repeat the sending.

How does it work?

• End-user enters the visited web site payment page and selects the SMS Kambi payment option.
• End-user selects his country flag, and follows instructions:
  
  1. End-user sends a text message with the word KAMBI followed by a predefined identifier
  2. End-user receives a login and password to access the website premium content.
  3. End-user logs in with his login id and password.
  4. End-user receives his mobile phone bill with an SMS premium charge, or end-user gets its prepaid account debited real time.

Yes, as long as users of your website live in the covered zone.

Is SMS Kambi secure?

Yes, SMS Kambi uses the GSM network, which encrypts communications between the mobile operator and your client. SMS Kambi also supports secure connections to carry any sensible information exchange between SMS Kambi and your website.

Yes. Once you sign up, we will give you private access to the Webmaster's section, which will give you 24/7 access to your real time statistics per country, month/week/day, mobile network operator.

When and how do I get paid?

The out payment rates are available upon request. The SMS Kambi model is based on revenue sharing between Mobile Network Operators and customers

Yes, when you signup for an account with SMS Kambi, you can decide if you want SMS Kambi to manage the duration of the validity of the username and password. If you prefer, you can also manage it by yourself.
